{Samantha is One Month Old}

Our precious girl turned one month old! She had her first month check up and did well with her shots. She's progressing well. Here's her stat:

  • Weight: 10 lbs 2 oz (76%)
  • Height: 21 1/4 " (53%)
  • Head Circumference: 56 1/2 (34%)
We've been doing a lot of tummy time. Big brother William always cheers her up during this
activity. Samantha is strong and is now able to hold her head up.

She recognizes the sound of our voices and enjoys being around family.
She has a couple of fussy moments throughout the day but is getting better. I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to stay at home with her at this age. I adore running errands with her, cuddling, talking and playing with her. She's breastfed and it's such a nice bonding time we have.

It's so fun to get her all dressed up! Been obsessed with dressing her up and putting bows on her. Her eyes are still blue (Will they stay like that? :))

Happy one month old Samantha bean!

{Big Brother William}

Dearest William,

I just want to tell you how proud we are of you! You are the sweetest big brother to Samantha.
You want to come see Samantha and give her a kiss first thing every morning. You get so worried when she's upset and comforts her by saying it's okay "Mantha".
You always want to hold her and you are extremely gentle around her. You share your toys with your baby sister. It amazes me how pure your love is and how you've embraced your new role as a big brother!
My big boy! You've grown so much in such a short time...potty trained (Samantha makes up for all the diaper savings :), eats a whole apple, reads, counts, tells stories, sing,etc.
You are a joy! Samantha adores you!

Love,
Mom and Dad

{Spring Fling 2010}

William's daycare had their annual Spring Fling Carnival last Friday. This has got to be the best one this year. Lots of activities for the kids --- moonwalk, face painting, tattoo, water balloon, etc.

William pretty much tried every activity station. He had so much fun!

William getting his Batman facepaint. He picked this one.
Samantha also made an appearance at school. Her teachers are looking forward to her first day at daycare.
Me and the kids. Gotta love baby carriers.
And as a bonus treat....our family won the raffle for the Batman/Spiderman/Hotwheels basket. So cool! Haven't given it to William and we've been hiding it from him :) He just recently received a bunch of toys so we are holding off on this. LOL!

I am so proud of my Dad for trying his best to get better just to see his precious granddaughter. Lolo adores Samantha!
My brother meeting Samantha.

{Samantha: Week 1}

Samantha had a great first week. She's adjusting real well. As for me, this has been a challenging week. I am bursting with joy on how blessed we are to have two wonderful kids and worrying on the other hand with the news of my Dad being admitted to the hospital that same week. Lots of testing being performed and we continue to pray for his recovery.

Big brother William is doing great. He adores his baby sister. Not a day has passed by where he has not given Samantha a good morning kiss. Samantha now gets a kiss first before me! I can see him being a protective and loving big brother to her. Amazing too that he fully recognize that family is Daddy, Mommy, William, Manta (that's how he says her name) and our dog Riley :)
Ed's doing great as well. I have no doubt that he'll be a great Dad to our kids. He's extremely helpful and spends a lot of time taking care of the kids and me :) He absolutely adores his baby girl and his baby girl adores him too! I can see Samantha turning into a Daddy's girl.But for the time being, since I am her "food supply", she is a Mommy's girl :)Samantha has had a couple of weight check up. She didn't loose much weight from her birth weight but our doctor wanted to make sure that breastfeeding was going great. My milk came in a lil later than normal. On her 10th day, she weighed a whooping 8.05 lbs. Doctor was extremely pleased with her progress. She also advised me that I can let Samantha sleep through night and let her wake me up if she wants to be fed. That was music to my ear :) She would sleep 4-5 hr stretch at a time. Glorious! Here's Samantha's first doctor's visit photos.
Last weekend, we also had the pleasure of having Aunt Sonny, Gigi, Sara and Kelsey visit us. It was great to see all of them and we were so glad to be able to spend some quality time with them. Samantha is extremely lucky to have adoring aunts and a loving great grandmommy.
William of course was ecstatic to have family in town. He was so excited to get goodies from everybody and play with them.
