{Apple Picking}

We are starting to get some cooler temps in the morning, and an indication that fall is here.YIPPPEE!!!  Busiest time for activities and we absolutely love it. We went apple picking yesterday at Ellijay, GA. It's a bit of a trek from Atlanta, but we had a great time and was happy to put a check mark on one of the items on our fall bucket list. I got a great Groupon deal for our family of four to visit BJ Reece Orchards. The kids have been looking forward to this trip!

The boys loved shooting apples from the cannon blaster!
They also had a petting zoo and pony rides for kids.
The cutest farm animals in town here.

But the highlight of the day most certainly is the apple picking. What a joy it was to see twinkle in our kids eyes on discovering and picking one of their favorite food from the tree.
William said the Granny Smith apples are delish! He loves the sour flavor in it.
Happy girl here with her bag full of apples.
The whole family had a great time at the orchard. What wonderful memories made!
The shop and bakery had a great selection of apple offerings to enjoy. We picked up a dozen of apple cider donuts. So moist and flavorful!
We will be back next year Ellijay!

{First Soccer Game}

He's taken lessons since he was two, but this is our first year of William joining a league. The verdict? He LOVES it! He looks forward to practice and game day. The bonus point...his team has great kids and families. Always a plus to be surrounded by positive people.

We could have not asked for a better first game, he worked hard and hassled.
Scored a couple of goals.
Cheered for his team from the sideline.
Encouraged teammates.
Demonstrated sportsmanship.
Go Team Tigers! I could have not been more proud of everybody!
What beautiful friendships are being formed by this team.
The sweetest thing ever...unprompted, William walked up to Ed and thanked him for teaching him to be the best soccer player. HAPPY BOY in here!

{Fun Run}

We are extremely blessed to be in a school with a strong PTA group. The community is rallying for our school and we want it to be successful and the best that it can be! One of the biggest fundraising event for the school is the fun run. This is our first year joining this event, and I can see how people get so into it and help the kids raise money. Family and friends can donate a flat fee or per lap dollar amount for each runner.

William did well and raise so much money. Thanks to our generous family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. He told everybody that his school is counting on him. Way to sell it buddy!
He was one of the top funraiser for his school and was declared King of Fun Runner. He also earned his class a bubble party that day! Hooray!

I had a flexible work schedule the day of his fun run, and was able to go in real quick to his school to watch his kindergarten class run their race. You can feel the energy at school that day! It was so fun!!!
All lined up and ready for the race start.
Ready, set, go!!!
The tunnel and mister was definitely a favorite of the kids.
At one point, the parents were asked to walk/run with their kids. Here's my very sweaty err wet runner. He kept pouring water on top of his head to cool off.
They also had a grab their hand and walk with a friend, and it was so cute to see William with his buddy Murray.
William did a great job!!! He ran 27 laps and raise $640 for his school!!! Thank you again friends and family.
So proud of my fun runner.
I also was able to join him for a quick lunch at his school cafeteria. He was smiling big and thanked me for coming to school event. What a sweet kid!

{Kindergarten: All About Me Box}

All About Me projects are my favorite. It's a great way to capture and remember what things our kids are really into at a certain age. We were used to doing poster from Primrose, but it was nice to up the creativity factor and work on a box instead. Here's William Kindergarten All About Me Box.

  • Orange and Blue Box for his favorite team Auburn
  • Picture of him in a barong, a traditional Filipino costume
  • Family Picture
  • Pizza for his favorite food
  • Soccer for his favorite sport
  • Mardi Gras beads from his favorite trip
  • Mummy to represent his Halloween Birthday

{Labor Day Weekend Happening}

We had a low key labor day weekend in between sunshine and rain (typical Atlanta nowadays). First college football weekend and my Auburn Tigers are proud. Sadly, William didn't even make it to see Auburn's first touch down of the season.

William wrote in his star journal at school that he'd love to go fishing. The family went to Bass pro shop to pick up some gears. Lil sister decided that she wants to go fishing too and pick up fishing pole appropriate for a lil princess.
We've  had showers in the mornings, but it didn't stop Ed to making his boy's "wish" a reality. Lucky lil fella to have an awesome Daddy! We didn't catch any fish, but we'll surely come back again. Kids had fun in spite of the rain.
The kids are also into the fun loop rubberband. Thank goodness for Ed's "crafty" skills. I am so not good at this kind of stuff. Great activity to teach kids patience and concentration.
We also played and read a lot this weekend. Ms. Fleming let William borrow a Magic Tree Chapter book, and he was loving it!
We finished the weekend watching the rescheduled 4th of July Capital City Country Club fireworks straight from William's bedroom's window. What a treat!
