We are so proud to be a part of a school that brings value in celebrating culture and diversity. William's school dedicates a week of learning about different cultures and traditions. I strongly believe that it is important to expose a child in diversity. My parents has done an extremely good job of doing so and I hope that we do the same for William.
This year's celebration was mostly indoor due to heavy rains in Georgia.
We still had a great time and had the chance to participate in Music Time
Story time
Arts and crafts
At the very last minute, I found this "Ati-Atihan" ( a feast held every January in the town of Kalibo in the province of Aklan on the island of Panay, is the wildest among Philippine fiestas. Celebrants paint their faces with black soot and wear bright, outlandish costumes as they dance in revelry during the last three days of this week-long festival) shirt at our local Filipino store. Shirt was a 5T, had to wash and dry it a lot to shrink it some :)
Guess, who showed up as the schools special guest --- Dora, the Spanish Explorer!

I remember reading about this same event last year, right? I love this, and I think it's great to teach the children at a young age about other cultures and diversity. Love the shirt for William--hopefully, he'll be able to wear it for another year or two, too. :o)
What a great thing William is being exposed to! Cute pics and story!
