We don't get much snow in Atlanta, so when we do it's a big deal. This snow storm is definitely one going in the books. This was yesterday's traffic forecast at 2:05 pm on a tuesday afternoon. The whole town was on a grid lock. Snow was stronger than anticipated and school was cancelled in the middle of the day. Took people hours (I've heard up to 10 hrs) to get home. Some are so not lucky and had to sleep in their cars in the middle of this cold night. Also had a couple of instances of kids trapped in schools and school buses. I can't even imagine having my babies in that situation. Thankful for all the teachers and administration of each and every school. They did not even blinked an eye and readily stepped up to take care of these kids. I am thankful for all the good people of Atlanta. Strangers helping each other. It restores my faith in humanity.
Thankful that Ed and I have flexible jobs and a home that is closed proximity to our work and kids schools. It's not a norm and it took us an hour and half, but our family is home safe and warm. Our kids were able to enjoy this very rare snow day. I hugged these kiddos tighter tonight and prayed that all other kids who had to stay at schools find comfort and strength.
Silly kids loving this powdery snow.

AWW! We never seen pictures of your pooch!
Ya'll are super lucky. Even my one friend who works in Alpharetta and lives in Midtown sat in traffic. 4 1/2 hours to go 23 miles.
2 hours just trying to get on the interstate.
Atlanta has such a traffic problem to begin with, the city leaders and DOTD should have been more prepared.
Ridonkulous and embarrassing. :(
