I have to admit I don't often get to surprise this guy, but was so totally happy to pull this one off. He deserves every bit of great things and I wanted to make sure that his birthday is always special. His day started out with opening presents. A new pair of running shoes that the kids "picked" out for Dad. William's been telling Ed that he's getting him a skunk for his birthday so Ed acted relieved when he opened up his present. Also in the gift loot was a card from me saying that we are going on a VIP tour of Sweetwater Brewery. My husband loves a good beer, and we've talked about doing the brewery tour. I told him my sister is coming over that afternoon to babysit the kids so we can go. He was excited!
We went to Farm Burger for a family birthday lunch before our "date" .
Afternoon came, and my sister knocked at our door ready to babysit the kids. Ed and I were so excited. I was so nervous and excited at the same time. On our way, I texted Ra to tell her we are on our way. She said that they are all there, and are having a great time and can't wait for us to arrive. I was a lil concern that he might recognize some of our friends cars in the parking lot. It was a great sunny day in Atlanta, and the line was long for the tour. The big crowd distracted Ed, and he even mentioned that it was so nice that we are on the VIP tour list, and we don't have to stand in line. He still didn't had a clue that the "VIP tour" I am referring to is our group of friends. We walked up to a special area, and he spotted a couple of friends. That's when it dawned on him that this was a surprise party for him. He also saw our friends Clint and Monica. That's when he realized I must have been planning this for a while because they are coming from Alabama. Surprise! Surprise!
Our whole group!
Oh how I love this guy! The best partner in life. We definitely have fun together.
The brewery tour was awesome. For a group that enjoy their beer, this was a perfect event. It was really neat to see how Sweetwater started. One of our favorite beer ever!
Cheers to the best friend and husband!
The party was catered by the birthday boy's favorite BBQ place, Fox Bros. Yum!
Good times was had by everybody!
Surprise birthday party a success. Thankful to be surrounded with great friends as we celebrate Ed!
