{It's in Him}

Today at school, one of the Moms at William's class shared with us such a sweet story about him. She said the other day at drop off,his son wanted to be a helper at the director's office. Helpers get to wear a red apron and a badge. Kids love it coz usually it's a privilege for good kids. That morning, three kids including William was already helpers. The mom said that his son was kind of upset and bummed out that there plenty of helpers already at the office. Without anybody asking, William took off his apron and gave it to his classmate and said "here Miller, you can have a turn".

William, of course is a rascal just like most kid his age...but from time to time, it becomes obvious that he has a special level of kindness in him. As a parent (and every parent should), you always think your kid is awesome. When we hear random stories from people about William's kindness, it makes us beam with so much pride. My husband and I have seen it and from time to time still get surprised that a kid his age would think or do something like that.

Like the time, where one of the teachers at school with tears in her eye told me the story when William asked her on the hallway how her father is doing. They told the kids earlier that week that her father was sick and she will be out of school. She told me that she was so touched by the thoughtfulness of this lil person.William was 3 yrs old at that time.

We've heard people make a comment that he is special and we try to foster that innate kindness in him. You can't teach kids everything but hopefully , everyday we live our lives in actions that inspire our kids to use the inner kindness in them.

{The Bloggess}

I've never been a big time reader. Heck, I've never read a single Harry Potter or Twilight series.  I say I'm a math person...a left brain thinker :) But I heart reading blogs! It must be the pictures. One of my favorite blog is The Bloggess. Jenny is hilarious. I wish I have her as a lunch buddy or cube coworker. I bet it'lll be so fun. When Ra mentioned that she was reading and doing a book signing in town, I immediately jumped on seeing her. Ra, Heather and I met at Barnes & Nobles for the book signing.

We all grabbed dinner and drinks at La Fonda and had a great time chatting.
I am thankful to be surrounded by these beautiful, witty, smart and funny ladies, who inspire, support and encourage me as a mom.

{Kindness is Still Alive}

I was riding the elevator at work and made my usual hi to people. One of the gentleman had a half a pan of cake and I made a comment to him that it looks delicious. He said that his wife got it from the farmer's market and they decided that it was best for him to take the rest of it to the office so they don't eat it all by themselves. He said that I should come by their breakroom and grab a piece. I said, "yah, I'll do that".

I got stuck on conference calls and never really had the chance to get me a piece. An hour later, the gentleman peeked at my cube and said, "I found you...I noticed you didnt get a piece so I saved you one before they were all gone" Wow, how awesome was that! Really made my day.

Kindness is cool. I wish I can pay it forward and brighten somebody's day.

{Boots}

Some days you just had to have them on.

{Mothers Day 2012}

It was absolutely a great day for this Momma. Ed and the kids spoiled me rotten. I love how Ed makes a big deal out of it and teaches the kids the importance of this day.

To start with I got this very sweet and thoughtful necklace from the kids. It was a labor of love. A couple of weeks ago, William was very adamant that we need to pick up fruit loops cereal at the grocery store. He whispered to his Daddy's ears that he wanted to make a necklace for me on Mothers day. That night, Samantha asked for a snack and pointed to the box of fruit loops. William started freaking out and said that she can't have it and wouldn't tell me exactly why. So cute!!! He really wanted it to be a big surprise.

After church we had a lovely brunch at Marlow's Tavern with my family. I love their brunch and of course their mimosas :)
We all are thankful for our Mommy. Everyday I thank the Lord for blessing me with an awesome and inspiring Mom. She would give and do everything for her kids.

My super sweet sister volunteered to babysit the kids in the evening so that Ed and I can go to dinner with his parents.
Here we are on our way to the Iberian Pig Restaurant. I've heard so many great reviews about this place. It didnt disappoint and we all enjoyed the fabulous dining experience!
My heart is full. I am a very lucky Momma!

{Saturday}

It was a busy but oh so fun Saturday for us.

Our morning started bright and early with a quick trip up north of the city for a 10K that Ed signed up for. It was a very hill course and we are so proud of him! His chip time was 48:39. Yes, he is a speedy!

Ed's cheering crew. My family was in town and was so sweet to get up bright and early to cheer for Ed and helped me watched the kids.
Post race, we all grabbed a quick breakfast and started making our way to William's Tball game. It was raining when we pulled in the parking lot. But rain or shine, the game was on! William hit a ball without using the Tee. It was so cute! His coach said, "Common William, I see the fire in your eyes,you can do it" He hit it and actually surprised himself! It took him a second to run to the first base because he was so happy! So cute.
After the game, we started making our way to our good neighbor day. The private airport next to our house host an annual airshow for the neighborhood to enjoy. Such a fun event for both kids and grown ups! Lots of ooohs and aaahhhs from the crowds.
It's a perfect day to sit on the lawn with the family, enjoy a drink and watch the show!
Lemonades and sunglasses to keep everybody cool!
My Mom said that my Dad would have enjoyed this event. She's absolutely right. Dad would have loved this!
We absolutely love living in Chamblee! Perfect location with close proximity to the city and the suburb plus a great neighborhood feel with lots of activities for the family to enjoy.
After the show, we all went to a friend's house to celebrate a special girl's party. They had a spa theme and had a bounce house for the brothers to enjoy. Samantha adore being around all the girly stuff. How cute is she in her custom spa robe? The kids enjoyed cupcake decorating activity and went to town with sprinkles in their cupcakes.
What a day! Yes, everybody went to bed early that night!

{He Listens}

Ed drops off the kids to school. So every morning I give the kids and Ed hugs and kisses and we say goodbye. I also tell William to have a good day, be a good kid, listen to his teachers, etc.

As I was leaving, he asked Ed to roll down the car window and I heard him scream "mommy you forgot to tell me not to get into time out"

Well, I guess he listens :)

{Lemonade Days 2012}

Spring is here and festival season has kicked in.
We had a quick sunday brunch with family before they head out town. I wish they all leave closer :(  We are so thankful that they made the trip to join us in celebrating Samantha's birthday.

Since it was our 6th year wedding anniversary that day, we all contemplated on going to Lemonade days. In the end we decided to go since William's Tball friends will be there. Yes, that's how we roll with wedding anniversary celebration :)

I am so glad we did coz the kids absolutely had a great time. Plus you can't beat the super delicious carnival food. Kettle corn, corn dogs, funnel cake---best anniversary meal :)
 And of course wherever snow cones is offered, my kids will have some.
What a fun day it was! My kids are definitely big carnival fans.

How adorable is his Tball team!

{Bug}

William:  Ms. Turner(William's teacher) has bugs in her tummy.

Me: Buddy, she doesn't have bugs. That's not nice.

William: Yes Mom she does. Ms Smithers said that's why she was not at school yesterday.

Me: Oh, she has a stomach bug!

{Samantha's 2nd Birthday Party}

Samantha loves Tinkerbell so it was very fitting to have a Pixies and Pirates theme for her second birthday party. We were initially going to have her party at the park but decided to move it to the clubhouse last minute due to projected rain. It turned out sunny and  the lil change of plans did not dampen our lil princess' second birthday party. We have even have family who traveled from different cities to celebrate this special day. We are so blessed to have wonderful friends and family who always shower us with love. Samantha was all smiles and very much enjoyed her big day. She kept saying "Samantha's party". Gotta love her!

How lucky is she to have a doting big brother help her get ready for her party!
The whole place was transformed into a place fitting for Pixies and Pirates to party!
Awesome cake and cookies made by talented friends! Cake by Made With Sugar and Cookies by Lee Anne.
We were delighted to see guests having fun!
Our sweet entertainer made these special balloons for the birthday girl and big brother!

Happy birthday Samantha! We love you! We hope that you had a great 2nd birthday party.

{Spring at The Beach}

We decided to move up our beach trip this spring to spread out our travel schedule this year. Lucky for us, Monica was on spring break that week and they were able to join us for a quick spring beach trip. First stop was a quick lunch at Angler's beachside restaurant.Good food and a great view of the ocean.

After lunch we checked in to our condo. We usually vacation at 30A area but with a smaller group we opted for a condo location with a beach access on site. I've heard great reviews about Waterscape and was confident that we will all have a great time. The property is relatively new and the perfect location for vacationing with lil ones. The condo we stayed at was awesome. Easy access to the pool and beach. The plus side, we have beach front view from the living room and all the bedrooms. The kids definitely loved mornings in bed. They always would ask for us to slide the curtains so they can see the ocean.
Lil munchkins ready to go to the beach.
We pretty much spent most of our times at the beach. Another thing I love about this resort is that they set up umbrellas and chairs for you at the beach everyday. Hooray for convenience. Our kids can literally spend their whole day at the beach. They are so content and happy just playing in the ocean and exploring!
Big smile and sandy hands and toes.
Lots of big smiles from everybody.
Samantha of course has mastered the art of napping at the beach...wind blowing and the sound of the waves crashing!
This is William's version of chillin'
No shortage of fun in the sun for our group!
The pool and lazy river were also favorite spots.
Lots of yummy foods were consumed as well.Crab Trap was a quick walking distance by the beach so it was the perfect lunch spot. We also had a great time at McGuires and enjoyed yummy Irish foods!
The seafood was delish. We lucked out that the best crab boil restaurant is just across the street from where we were staying.
What a great trip this was! We absolutely enjoyed it. So glad that C & M were able to join us.
